ISLAMABAD – Murree, Nathia Gali and other adjacent tourist spots receive a huge influx of tourists when summer season begins, mainly due to vacations in schools.
As summer vacation 2024 continues, families are planning or some of them are moving towards these hill stations to spend quality times. But there is an alert for them who are planning to spend holidays from July 27.
The tourists can face trouble while travelling to Murree and other linked areas as Jamaat-e-Islami is staging sit-in at different points in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, blocking major roads.
The religio-political party is holding protest against inflated electricity bills and against independent power plants (IPPs). The protesters, who started their campaign on July 26, are demanding the government to provide relief to masses.
JI Emir Hafiz Naeeumur Rehman is expected to hold press conference today near Liaquat Bagh, where the sit-in is being staged, to unveil his future course of action.
Latest Alert for Tourists in Pakistan
Due to sit-in, the Murree Road is completed closed from traffic from Marir Hassan to Committee Chowk. The travellers will be unable to continue their travel towards the hill station from this point.
It would be better for them to postpone their plans or wait at some safe place before the situation is defused.
