PARIS – The Paris Olympics have officially begun with a vibrant opening ceremony on the iconic Seine River.

The delegations from 205 countries made a grand entrance via boats on the river, and the Olympic torch was ceremoniously lit.

The world’s biggest sports festival, the Paris Olympics, kicked off with stunning visuals and heartwarming music.

Renowned singers Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, who performed the title song of the movie Titanic, captivated the audience.

Approximately 3,000 artists took part in the opening ceremony.

During the ceremony, the delegations from various countries arrived in traditional style.

The Pakistani delegation made its entrance on a boat alongside the delegations of New Zealand, Oman, Uganda and Uzbekistan.

Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s bug hope for victory, proudly carried the Pakistani flag during the delegation’s arrival. He was accompanied by athlete Faiqa Riaz, swimmers Jahan Ara Nabi and Ahmed Durrani and officials.

Pakistani shooters Kashmala Talat, Gulfam Joseph and GM Bashir were unable to attend the opening ceremony due to being approximately three and a half hours away from the event location.

The competition for Pakistani shooters at the Paris Olympics begins today. Gulfam Joseph would compete in the 10-meter air pistol event at 1:30 pm,  followed by Kashmala Talat in the women’s 10-meter air pistol event at 3:30 pm.

In honor of the Pakistani delegation taking part in the Paris Olympics, a ceremony was held at the Pakistani embassy, with Federal Minister IPC Rana Sanaullah as the special guest.

Pakistani athletes Arshad Nadeem, Faiqa Riaz, Ahmed Durrani and Jahan Ara Nabi attended the event.
