As the armed conflict between two tribal groups in Kurram entered the third day on Friday, around a dozen people have been killed and over 50 others sustained serious wounds. Reports said all the efforts of the district administration to resolve the issue and bring the situation under control remained unsuccessful.

The clashes between the Bushehra and Malikhel tribes in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa started on Wednesday with the local sources saying gunfire in the areas of BalashKhel, Khar Kale, Piwar, and Teri Mangal continued and he groups are reportedly using a variety of weapons against each other.

Hospital sources confirmed that seven dead bodies were received and 50 others injured in the ongoing exchange of gunfire. The violence has also disrupted traffic on the main highway due to the intense fighting. Police sources noted that missiles and rockets are being used in the clashes, with many surrounding areas being impacted.

Deputy Commissioner JavedUllahMehsud stated that a peace Jirga from Hangu and Kazai has arrived in the area in an attempt to broker a ceasefire between the tribes. Tribal elders from both sides are actively engaged in these peace efforts. However, efforts of the authorities to effect truce between the warring groups are yet to yield results.
