Rescue 1122 appoints first female firefighters in historic move

For the first time in Pakistan’s history,women have been appointed as firefighters.According to the channel report, Sindh Rescue 1122 has recruited 72female firefighters.Director General of Sindh Rescu 1122 DrAbid said these femalefirefighters are fully capable of handling any fire incidents in Karachiwith ease.

He said these women have also been trained to rescue individualsfromdrowning incidents in the sea and canals.

He said the recruits include women from various parts of rural Sindh,and they received their training in Punjab.One of the newly appointed lady firefighters stated, “We are fullyequipped and trained to handle any fire emergencies.”
