Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi convened a meeting with Deputy Commissioners, Additional Commissioner Abdul HannanBhatti, and Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Rabia Syed to evaluate the effectiveness of the ongoing price control campaign.
The session focused on the rising prices of essential vegetables such as tomatoes and onions. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioners reported on their efforts to enforce official rates and monitor pricing in their areas. Commissioner Naqvi expressed concern over the recent increase in vegetable prices and directed Deputy Commissioner East, ShehzadFazalAbbasi, to ensure transparency within the market committee.
Abbasi is tasked with meeting the market committee and reforming the auction system at SabziMandi to address these issues. The Commissioner also emphasized the need for stringent enforcement of official prices for all essential items, including fruits, vegetables, chicken, eggs, and groceries. Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi instructed Deputy Commissioners to oversee the price control measures personally, ensure daily price checks by Assistant Commissioners, and submit daily reports to the Commissioner’s office.
