SFA shuts down substandard oil depots, bakeries

Teams from the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) have conducted inspections in the central and Malir districts of Karachi, targeting illegal oil depots and bakeries found to be harmful to health. Following the directives of DG SFA MuzamilHussainHalepoto, food safety officer Mehboob Ali Bhatti and his team carried out operations against substandard edible oil depots, imposing fines amounting to lakhs of rupees. During these inspections, the team discovered loose oil and various substandard items. As a result, the sale of loose oil has been banned, and substantial fines were levied against the violators. DG Sindh Food Authority MuzamilHussainHalepoto emphasized that the health and safety of the public are the SFA’s top priorities. He assured that the authority will not tolerate the sale of substandard and harmful food items, reiterating the commitment to safeguard public health.
