DUBAI – The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday officially approved the budget for the 2025 Champions Trophy on the final day of its meetings.

The budget was jointly prepared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the ICC. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi represented Pakistan during the discussions.

Champions Trophy which is due from February 19 to March 9, 2025 will be hosted at three venues including Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore.

According to the PCB’s proposed schedule, all of India’s matches will be played in Lahore.

Separately, the PCB has allocated Rs12.80 billion for the enhancement of three major stadiums: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.

While all other participating teams previously played in Pakistan, the PCB is hopeful that India would also visit Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy 2025.

The PCB’s stance is that, as the host nation, Pakistan should be the sole venue for the tournament.

The ICC’s annual meeting will continue in Colombo from July 19 to 22, where the PCB will advocate strongly for hosting all matches within Pakistan.
