Beliefs and modernisation

War fundamentally arises from clash of beliefs. The group that holds steadfastly to their beliefs tends to emerge victo-rious. However, an intriguing scenario unfolds when one group strategically glamorises superficial elements of mod-ernisation, such as fashion and lifestyle, while covertly maintaining their deep-seated beliefs. This group projects an image of secularism and modernity, thereby misleading the opposing group into abandoning their own beliefs in pur-suit of this perceived modernisation.

In reality, modernisation transcends beyond mere changes in attire or the growth of the fashion industry. True modernization encompasses the overhaul and advancement of educational systems, the strengthening of defense mechanisms, and the fortification of governance structures. It is about embracing progress while simultaneously main-taining a firm grip on core beliefs and values.

In this scenario, the group that initially camouflages their true intentions under the guise of superficial moderniza-tion begins the conflict subtly, attacking the foundations of the opposing group’s beliefs. Once they have sufficiently weakened the opposition by creating an illusion of modernity, they launch a full-fledged war based on their actual beliefs, ultimately revealing their true intentions. This strategic deception highlights the importance of understanding that genuine modernization is about intellectual and structural advancements, not just outward appearances, all while holding one’s beliefs firmly.

Brain drain

I am writing to express my concern about brain drain affecting our country. The emigration of highly skilled and edu-cated individuals to other countries is a significant loss for our community. This talent exodus not only affects our economic growth and development but also deprives us of expertise and knowledge necessary for innovation and ad-vancement.

The brain drain is a major issue that requires immediate attention. It is essential that we create an environment that encourages our talented individuals to stay and contribute to our progress. This can be achieved by providing opportu-nities for career advancement and growth, offering competitive salaries and benefits and creating a working environ-ment that fosters research and development. Govt by implementing policies that retain talent, we can reverse the brain drain and create a talent pool that drives our progress and prosperity.

Confronting animal abuse

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province witnessed yet another act of animal cruelty, after a camel found dead in the region with it’s legs amputated marking a new low in the depths of human depravity. The incident took place only a few days after a local landlord in Sanghar district was accused of torturing a camel and chopping off it’s leg with his employee help since it had strayed into his fields for grazing. This triggered significant uproar on social media that led to camel being transported to Karachi for treatment and a prosthetic leg. The societal impact of these incidents cannot be over stated. They have ignited a wave of rightful indignation among citizens and animal rights advocates alike. The images of mutilated camels circulating relentlessly on social media and news outlets, serve as grim testament to our moral regression. In Pakistani culture, as in many societies, animals hold significant symbolic and practical value. They are revered in literature, and tradition as creatures deserv-ing respect and care. However, these recent atrocities reveal harsh realities faced by animal on the ground.

Economic challenge

The economic challenges facing our country/region/community are pressing and require immediate attention. High levels of unemployment, inflation and poverty are having a devastating impact on individuals, families and busi-nesses.

The key issues include high unemployment among young people, rising costs of living, limited access to credit and financial services for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and a lack of investment in infrastructure and industry. These challenges require a comprehensive and coordinated response from policymakers, business leaders and com-munity stakeholders.

Govt must implement policies and programmes that promote economic growth, job creation, and social inclusion. This can be achieved through investments in education and training programs, support for small businesses and entre-preneurs, and social safety nets and poverty reduction programs.

Power and greed

Power and corruption negatively impact lives because, as the saying goes, “black money doesn’t make anyone suc-cessful; it only gives birth to demons.” Power and money are two components that have turned humans into evil, greedy, foolish, enslaved, psychotic, cruel, blind, and worthless beings. If they have power and money but lack kind-ness, love, care, and humanity, are they capable of being called humans? Power and money have the potential to corrupt even most virtuous individuals. They can transform a person’s val-ues, priorities and actions leading to a cycle of corruption that perpetuates through generations. The true measure of success should not be based on wealth or influence but on positive impact one has on others’ lives. We must redefine what it means to be powerful by placing a higher value on compassion, integrity and empathy.
