Chicken, egg prices in Lahore increase – Check latest rate on July 20

LAHORE – Chicken meat prices in Pakistan continue to soar in Lahore and other markets of Punjab after it registered downward trend for several days.

In recent past, the prices of the chicken saw significant drop after its consumption declined due to Eidul Adha 2024 when goats, cows and camels are sacrificed by people.

In Lahore, the chicken meat prices increased by Rs18 to reach Rs595 per kilogramm on July 20 as compared to previous day rate of Rs577 per kg.

As per the official rates, the price of 1kg of chicken meat has been fixed at Rs595.

Furthermore, the price of eggs has been fixed at Rs258 per dozen in Lahore and adjacent areas.

Citizens, who are bearing hike in utility bills and other basic commodities, lamented over rising chicken prices in Punjab, asking the government to take an action against the mafia.

Meanwhile, cooking oil, ghee and lentils prices have also surged in domestic markets following an increase in petrol prices in the country.
