CEO KWSC visits Zero Point Hub Canal

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed visited Zero Point Hub Canal and Hub Pumping Station along with British Deputy High Commissioner Sarah Mooney and inspected the Hub Canal and Hub Pumping Station.

During the visit Chief Engineer Bulk SikandarZardari, Chief Engineer E&M Intekhab Rajput, Mustafa Magan, QurbanMagsi and other senior officials were present.According to the Spokesperson KWSC, the CEO KWSC while giving a briefing to the British Deputy High Commissioner about the Hub Canal and Hub Pumping Station said that the construction of the new Hub Canal and the rehabilitation of the old Hub Canal is being started with the support of the Sindh Government for additional water in Karachi city.

On this occasion the meeting involved a detailed discussion on bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for mutual interest and also discussed in detail the measures taken regarding the improvement of water supply and sewerage.

According to the Spokesperson KWSC the purpose of the meeting between the two parties was to explore opportunities of mutual interest.During the meeting, the recent measures taken by the Water Corporation regarding water availability and security in different areas of Karachi were discussed and areas of mutual interest including exchange of experiences, green environment initiatives, enhancement of technical capacity and intention to involve international companies in the water sector were also discussed.

During the meeting, the CEO KWSC  briefed the British Deputy High Commissioner on recent reforms, rehabilitation, improvements, and the vision of the corporation in the coming years.On this occasion, the British Deputy High Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the CEO KWSC Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed in transforming the corporation into a more efficient and service oriented organization and reflected keen interest in knowing the existing  wastewater treatment capacity and recycling projects offered.The British Deputy High Commissioner expressed his desire to visit other installations of the Water Corporation, including Damloti.
