PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to further increase the salaries its employees to provide relief to them amid inflation.

In the budget for fiscal year 2024 25, the provincial government had announced 10% increase for all employees.

Now it has been decided to hike the salaries of government employees of Grade 1 to 16 by 25% in line with the increment approved by the federal government.

Similarly, the employees of Grade 17 and above will get20% increase. Additionally, pensions will be increased by a further 10%.

KP Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam stated in a video message that the federal government had announced 25% increase in salaries for employees from Grade 1 to 16 and 20% for those Grade 17 and above, along with a 15% increase in pensions.

Now the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet has also approved increases in salaries and pensions following the federal government’s pattern, he announced

He mentioned that the formal notification for additional increases in salaries will be issued soon. These increases will impose an additional burden of Rs75 to 80 billion on the provincial treasury.
