Indonesian CG lauds Sindh’s agricultural advancements

Indonesian Consul General Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, alongside diplomatic staff, progressive farmers, and agricultural experts, visited the M.H. Panhwar Agricultural Farm near Khisano Mori, Tando Jam, on Tuesday. The Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) spokesman reported that the CG commended the farm’s exceptional efforts in cultivating jackfruit, strawberries, lychee, and mangoes. Dr. Hadiningrat expressed Indonesia’s keen interest in new mango varieties and their export potential. The delegation toured fields with diverse fruit varieties, including mangoes, lychee, jackfruit, bananas, and lemons. Ghulam Sarwar Panhwar, head of M.H. Panhwar Farms and a progressive farmer, welcomed the delegation. The CG was presented with books authored by M.H. Panhwar on agriculture, irrigation, and history. In his remarks to the media and attendees, Dr. Hadiningrat expressed his delight at witnessing the advanced agricultural practices in Sindh.

He noted that the modern techniques employed at M.H. Panhwar Farms signal significant agricultural progress in the region, especially in mango cultivation. Dr. Hadiningrat highlighted the farm’s technical innovations in various fruits and their focus on exports.

He also expressed Indonesia’s interest in importing rice, mangoes, and other agricultural products from Pakistan. He suggested that institutions like SAU could establish research and business connections with Indonesia to foster mutual growth. Ghulam Sarwar Panhwar detailed ongoing collaborations with agricultural and research institutions in Sindh and across Pakistan, aiming to enhance exports and exchange modern technology. The event was attended by SAU faculty and representatives from non-governmental organizations.
