Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI activist Sanam Javed has been arrested under the cyber-crime law, a day after she secured bail.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) detained Ms Sanam soon after her release from Gujranwala Central Jail, as ordered by the Lahore High Court. Islamabad police took Sanam Javed into custody from Gujranwala and shifted her to the capital city.
On Friday, Special Anti-Terrorism Court in Gujranwala issued release order for Sanam Javed who had been detained in connection with the May 9 incidents. Judge Naeem Saleem complied with the Lahore High Court’s directive for her immediate release.
Lahore High Court (LHC) earlier denounced police for repeatedly detaining PTI activist Sanam Javed in multiple cases, citing malafide intentions and political motives. Justice Asjad Javaid Ghural led bench criticized the deputy commissioners of Lahore and Gujranwala for issuing detention orders while Javed was already in jail.
The bench found no evidence linking Javed to the charges and emphasized the need to respect judicial orders and the fundamental rights of the accused.
