ISLAMABAD – At least two people suffered injuries in a blast that occurred in the Akhtarabad area near the Western Bypass in Balochistan’s capital Quetta.
The explosive device was planted by unidentified militants on the roadside detonated, causing severe injuries to the victims.
They were swiftly taken to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, where doctors have described one of the casualties as being in critical condition.
After the blast, law enforcement promptly responded to the bombing site. Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and bomb disposal unit personnel have secured the area, gathered evidence, and are currently investigating the type of explosive device used—whether it was remotely triggered or timed.
The situation of terrorism in Balochistan worsened in recent months, with various terror groups operating in the region.
