Weather update for Karachi, Sindh; more rains likely

KARACHI – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Tuesday night.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), light to moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave affects northwestern parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Badin, Sajawal, Thatta and Karachi on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday and Thursday, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most districts of the province.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Wednesday and 36-38°C on Thursday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39-41°C on Wednesday and 40-42°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in Karachi and parts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Maximum temperature in Mohenjo-Daro and Khairpur was recorded at 44°C, and Rohri, Larkana and Dadu at 43°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 85 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 67 per cent.
