ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday allowed former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry permission to travel abroad.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq passed the order on a plea moved by Fawad Chaudhry seeking permission to travel abroad.
The court temporarily removed the former minister’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) for two weeks and stated that Fawad Chaudhry could travel abroad from August 10 to August 24.
Outside the court, speaking to the reporters, Fawad Chaudhry mentioned that despite more than a year passing, bail conditions are still in place, and if one case ends, another arrest follows. He expressed concern that the prosecution branch has been completely destroyed.
He criticized the state’s institutional framework, which he claimed is being dismantled, alleging that they are being pursued to destroy the courts.
He emphasized the need to reduce bitterness and engage in dialogue at this time.
