LAHORE – The Lahore High Court on Thursday ordered the police to ensure the recovery of Dr. Shahbaz Gill’s brother.
Justice Amjad Rafiq heard the petition for the recovery of PTI leader Dr. Shahbaz Gill’s brother.
Punjab Home Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran and others appeared in court.
During the hearing, the government lawyer stated that on Monday, geo-fencing data was obtained as per the court’s order and that the data is being analyzed.
Justice Amjad Rafiq asked whether the agency numbers showed up or not. The Punjab Home Secretary said that if the call is made on WhatsApp, the number appears; if made on a regular number, it does not.
The DIG Operations stated that they were not able to find out about Dr. Shahbaz Gill’s brother, to which Justice Amjad Rafiq said that their faces showed that they are helpless. He prayed that the kidnapped person returns home safely.
The petitioner’s lawyer said that Shahbaz Gill’s brother Ghulam Shabbir was taken into custody while going to Islamabad, and his life is in danger.
He asked the court to order his recovery.
The court later ordered the police to ensure the recovery of Dr. Shahbaz Gill’s brother and adjourned the case’s further hearing until July 18.
