KARACHI – As the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 has started As the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 has gone into implementation phase, it has become more difficult for people to live as the lentils or pulses prices have been increased in Pakistan.
The Wholesale Grocers Association has confirmed the development to media, stating that the rates of pulses and lentils have been revised up in line with the budget approved by the National Assembly in late June 2024.
People and traders have been urging the government to reverse the measures, which have make the basic food items unaffordable for them.
New Dal Per Kg Prices in Karachi
Reports said dal channa price (Grade 1) has surged to Rs295 per kg from previous rate of Rs231 while the price of Grade 2 dal channa has been increased to Rs285 per kg from Rs216.
Grade 1 da moong price increased by 60 rupees per kilogram to 330 rupees and Grade 2 moong dal price increased from 260 rupees to 300 rupees.
After an increase of Rs10 per kg, the dal maash price has surged to Rs520 while Kabuli chickpeas price increased by Rs60 to Rs362.
The black chickpeas surged by Rs38 per kg to Rs255 per kg. Similarly, the basin price went up by Rs30 to reach Rs280 per kg.
