Weather update for Karachi, Sindh; rains predicted in southeast districts

KARACHI – Scattered rains and gusty winds are predicted in parts of Sindh on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from Arabian Sea penetrates upper parts of Pakistan and will likely strengthen from Wednesday. A trough of shallow westerly wave will likely approach upper parts of the country on Wednesday.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Mithi, Badin, Umarkot, Tharparkar and Mirpur Khas on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Partly cloudy weather is expected in Karachi and other coastal areas. Muggy weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39-41°C on Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Dadu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Maximum temperature in Mohenjo-Daro was recorded at 44°C, and Nawab Shah at 43°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 65 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 53 per cent.
