A seminar titled “Breaking the Chains of War, A Story of Change” was organized by Tameer Khalq Foundation (TKF) and Save the Children, drawing significant participation from high officials, political and social leaders, artists, teachers, and children. The event focused on the detrimental effects of child marriage and the importance of education reform in Sindh. Speakers, including TKF’s district coordinator for Thatta, Nighat Sultana, Assistant Director Child Protection Officer Mehreen Iqbal Soomro, and Women Cell incharge Sindh Police Shabana Jokhio, highlighted the achievements of TKF.

They noted that 70 centers are currently operational in Thatta district, with 10 more in Jangshahi City, where children who had dropped out of school due to various reasons are receiving modern skill training alongside their education. Speakers praised the children from villages such as Sabz Ali Khan Brohi Kohistan, Ali Nawaz Jokhio Jungshahi, and Wahid Dino Shuro Thatta Center for their impressive skills and abilities.

They emphasized the importance of improving education in Sindh, which was once known as the “Gateway to Islam” but now lags behind. They stressed that education is not just for employment but also for raising awareness and consciousness. They also condemned child marriage and physical violence against children, noting that such practices are illegal and unethical in today’s society.

The event also saw participation from Abdul Qadir Shaikh, Director Information KWSC, and social leaders Shahnawaz Jokhio and Shankar Lal, among other dignitaries. Renowned artists Zulfi Shah, Qadir Jakhro, Urs Narejo, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, Yaqoob Kalhoro, Rashid Raja, and Benazir Junejo performed tableaus with the Mehek Theater Group Thatta, adding a cultural touch to the seminar.
