The Karachi Zoo is one of the most popular hangout spots for families in the southern port city of the country.

Also known as the Karachi Zoological Gardens, this famous tourist attraction in the City of Lights covers an area of 33 acres and is one of the largest zoos in Pakistan. It is also the second-oldest zoo in the country, constructed only six years after the renowned Lahore Zoo.

This zoo in Karachi is home to more than 800 animals, including 80 different species of mammals, 460 birds and more than 200 reptiles.

The animals inside the zoo include lions, Bengal tiger, jackal, Arabian Oryx, deer, giraffe, zebras, elephants and baboons.

Karachi Zoo Timings

People can visit Karachi Zoo between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Although the zoo is open seven days a week, the Wednesdays are reserved for women and children only.

The entrance fee for Karachi Zoo is minimal as Rs30 each person.
