More rains expected in Peshawar, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday evening/night, Friday and Saturday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, scattered rain-wind/thundershowers are expected in Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Shangla, Batgram, Dir, Swat and Malakand and at isolated places in Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Chitral, Kohistan, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Tank, Waziristan, Khyber, Bajaur and Kurram on Thursday evening/night and the next two days.

Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40-42°C on Friday and 38-40°C on Saturday.

Meanwhile, scattered rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Rainfall (mm): Balakot 16, Chitral, Kalam 04, Drosh 01 and Zhob 01

Bannu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 65 per cent.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 31 per cent.
