Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh organized an Inter-Faith Conference on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, bringing together religious leaders from various faiths to denounce drug abuse and emphasize its prohibition in their respective religions. Religious leaders from Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Hinduism, and Zoroastrianism joined forces to address drug abuse. The conference, held at the Arts Council, featured speakers from each faith who unanimously condemned drug abuse, highlighting its harmful effects on society.
ANF Sindh Force Commander Brigadier UmerFarooq emphasized the evolving nature of drug trafficking and the need for societal rejection of drugs. Religious leaders from each faith reiterated that drug abuse is strictly prohibited in their respective religions.
Maulana Azad Jameel (Muslim) stressed the importance of parental involvement, while Right Reverend Frederick John (Christian) highlighted rehabilitation efforts. Ram NathMaharaj (Hindu) cited scriptural condemnations, and Sikh and Parsi speakers reiterated their religious doctrines’ prohibition on drug abuse. Principal Secretary to the Governor of Sindh, Bilal Ahmed Memon, commended the ANF and emphasized investing in youth initiatives. Arts Council President Ahmed Shah stressed collective responsibility in combating drug abuse. The conference demonstrated unity across theological differences, serving as a call to action for communities to work together to eradicate drug abuse.
