India extended support for Israel in barbaric war in Gaza, and now there are reports of New Delhi providing Tel Aviv with advanced drones as well as other local weaponry.
Reports shared by Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper claimed Israel got 900 drones and other weaponry from India. It said military grade drones were converted for Israeli use amid Gaza war.
It said the factory in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad is a joint venture between Elbit Systems and Gautam Adani’s consortium. It also mentioned that India provided Israel with artillery shells and other weapons.
Ex-Israeli ambassador to India, Daniel Carmon also shared the development, saying Modi government may be supplying arms to Israel in the Gaza conflict as a gesture of gratitude for Israeli support during 1999 Kargil War.
He mentioned that Israel provided army equipment to New Delhi during Kargil War, and India might be reciprocating now.
Last month, Spain blocked a cargo vessel from India to Israel, carrying military supplies.
So far, over 37,626 have been killed in Gaza since Oct last year, the Health Ministry in the besieged enclave said. Over 86,000 have suffered injuries by aerial and ground attacks conducted by Israeli forces.
