The number of unexplained deaths in Karachi has climbed to 17 within a single day, as rescue services discovered seven more bodies from various parts of the city on Monday. Rescue officials reported that most of the deceased were believed to be drug addicts who succumbed to the extreme heatwave gripping the city.

The ages of the victims ranged from 35 to 60 years. The bodies were found in several locations, including Jama Cloth Market, Golimar, Super Highway, Gulistan-e-Johar, Federal B Area, and Landhi. Additionally, a tortured body was discovered near Surjani Town’s Fatima Society. The remains were transported to relevant police stations before being taken to the morgue for further procedures. Identification of the bodies is currently underway.

This follows the discovery of 10 bodies in various parts of Karachi on Sunday, also under mysterious circumstances. Those bodies were found in locations such as KMC ground Lyari, Golimar, Jahangir Road, Landhi, GodamChowrangi, Defense Phase 7, Orangi Town Sector 15, and Khamiso Goth. Police officials have launched an urgent investigation to determine the causes of death and to identify any possible connections between the incidents.
