LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Monday demolished/sealed eight illegal buildings in Lahore.
The LDA teams demolished one building in Allama Iqbal Town’s Nizam Block for violation of bylaws. Seven premises were sealed in Allama Iqbal Town and LDA controlled area on Multan Road for not paying commercialization fee. The sealed premises included grocery shop, sanitary store, milk shop and private offices.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to these buildings’ owners before carrying out the operation.
LDA Director Town Planning Naveed Bhatti supervised the operation which was carried out by enforcement teams with the help of heavy machinery and Police. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of building and parking bylaws, encroachments and illegal commercial use in Lahore.
