KARACHI – Sindh government has announced three holidays on account of Eidul Adha 2024 across the province.

The Eid break will commence from June 17 to June 19 (Monday to Wednesday) for all departments working under the provincial government.

Technically, the Eid holidays will start from June 15 as most of the government departments observe weekly offs on Saturdays and Sundays.

Earlier, the federal government has announced three holidays, stating that these will be observed from June 17 to 19.

The holiday announcement follows sighting of the Zil Hajj moon on June 7, as Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Adha on June 17. Eid ul Adha, which occurs on the 10th day of Zil Hajj, coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage.

Ahead of Eid, cattle markets have been established in various locations for people to buy cows, goats, sheep, and camels for sacrifice.
