Lahore, Punjab weather update; 02-04°C above normal day temperatures likely

LAHORE – Public at large has been advised to take precautions as heatwave will likely prevail in Lahore and plains of Punjab on Wednesday and Thursday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over northern parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, heatwave is expected in Lahore and most plains of the province on Wednesday and Thursday with 02 to 04°C above normal day temperatures. Gusty/dust-raising winds are expected in the southern districts. Partly cloudy weather is likely in Murree, Galyat and surroundings.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 43-45°C on Wednesday and 44-46°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry prevailed in Lahore and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bhakkar remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. The maximum temperature in Okara, Kot Addu, Kasur, Karor (Layyah) and Jhang was recorded at 46°C.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 17 per cent.
