Budget 2024-25: Expected increase in salaries of govt employees from July

ISLAMABAD – The PML-N led federal government is all set to unveil its first budget for fiscal year 2024-25 with total outlay of Rs18,000 billion tomorrow on June 12, with the federal employees expected significant increase in their salaries and pensions.

Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb will present the budget in National Assembly.

Reports suggest that the government is expected to propose 10 to 15 percent increase in salaries and pensions of the government employees in the upcoming budget.

Expected Salaries in Pakistan from July 2024

If the reported proposal is approved by the parliament, the government employees would receive their salaries with increment accordingly from July 2024.

Meanwhile, the government is expected to set tax collection target for next fiscal year as Rs12.9 trillion while the payment of debt and interest has been estimated at Rs9.5 trillion.

Reports suggest that the government is likely to increase the sales tax rate by one percent to collection additional revenue.
