Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Faiz Isa has urged the government to promote nature-friendly policies and spread awareness about preservation of the nature in society.
Addressing a seminar titled ‘Effects of Climate Change’ which was organized by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the CJP said, “We have exhausted the natural resources and we have failed to know about nature”.
“We get ill when the temperature of human body rises. Our earth is also ill and it is suffering from fever but we are not putting efforts to save it,” chief justice said.
While talking about Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s suggestion about hybrid vehicles, he said: “We need to prefer walking-on-foot to move-on-vehicles. “If the judges agree, bicycles can be provided to all judges.”
“Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has talked about the hybrid cars but I think we all should prefer to walk and we can also arrange bicycles for our judges,” chief justice said.
Faiz Isa said for environmental protection, there was a need to nurture climate-loving values in homes.
