President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, inaugurated the art exhibition “Magical Lines of Endless Mosaic” by renowned artist ChitraPritam. The event, held at the Arts Council, attracted notable artists from across Pakistan, including former Minister of Health, Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz, and other distinguished personalities. During the inauguration, President Muhammad Ahmed Shah highlighted ChitraPritam’s unique artistic style and his significant contributions to the art world. Shah recalled that Chitra was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz twelve years ago, acknowledging his outstanding achievements. Reflecting on the evolution of the art market, Shah noted that paintings, which once sold for fifty or a hundred rupees, now contribute significantly to the financial well-being of artists.
He praised the progress of art galleries and the growing global investment in art, with Pakistani works now reaching markets in the USA, Dubai, and Bangladesh. Shah emphasized the transformative power of digital mediums in connecting Pakistani art to the global stage, something unimaginable forty years ago. He admired ChitraPritam’s dedication to ensuring his children’s high-quality education through his earnings from painting. Shah also mentioned the Arts Council’s support for emerging artists, noting that third-year thesis projects from the Arts Council’s art school often sell before being displayed. Former Sindh Health Minister Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz lauded the vibrancy of ChitraPritam’s work, appreciating the hard work that has brought him to his current stature. ChitraPritam, in his speech, expressed gratitude towards Muhammad Ahmed Shah for his substantial contributions to art and culture and thanked everyone for their support.
