Bridgetown – Scotland beat Namibia by five wickets in a Group B match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Bridgetown.
Chasing 156 runs target for the victory, Scotland crossed the finishing line with five wickets in hand and nine balls to spare. Richie Berrington was the top scorer with 47 runs followed by player of the match Michael Leask who made 35. Michael Jones made 26 and Brandon McMullen 19 runs. Gerhard Erasmus bagged two wickets while Ruben Trumpelmann, Tangeni Lungameni and Bernard Scholtz one wicket each.
Earlier, Namibia scored 155/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Gerhard Erasmus was the highest scorer who made 52 runs. Zane Green scored 28, Nikolaas Davin 20, David Wiese 14, Jan Frylinck 12 and JJ Smit 11 runs. Brad Wheal bagged three wickets, Brad Currie two and Shris Sole, Chris Greaves and Michael Leask one wicket each.
