PM Shehbaz Sharif lands in Beijing on second leg of China visit for high level meetings

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shehbaz Sharif started his five-day official visit to China on June 4, arriving first in Shenzhen and then proceeding to Beijing.

In China’s capital, PM Sharif was welcomed by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and officials from the Pakistan embassy.

Accompanied by a delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister Shehbaz has a busy schedule in Beijing, including meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and the Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee.

Prime Minister will also participate in a Pakistan-China Friendship and Business event and hold discussions with CEOs of major Chinese companies involved in CPEC projects. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed between the two countries.

Earlier, during his visit to Shenzhen, Prime Minister Shehbaz met with Chinese investors and firms, expressing Pakistan’s commitment to supporting foreign investors and highlighting the potential for economic growth in Pakistan.
