ISLAMABAD – Intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in upper parts of Pakistan from June 04 to June 07. The wet spell will help reducing the intensity of prevailing heatwave during this week.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave will likely enter upper and central parts of Pakistan on Tuesday evening/night. It may persist during next three days.
Under the influence of this weather system, intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in parts of Pakistan from June 04 to June 07.
Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir: Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar), Kashmir (Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) from June 03 (evening/night) to June 08 with occasional gaps.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Duststorms/thunderstorms with rains are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan and Kurram from June 04 (evening/night) to June 08 with occasional gaps.
Punjab/Islamabad: Duststorms/thunderstorms with rains are expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha and Mianwali from June 04 to June 06 with occasional gaps. Duststorms/thunderstorms with isolated rains are also expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan and Layyah from June 05 (evening/night) to June 07.
Balochistan: Duststorms/thunderstorms with isolated rains are expected in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Sherani, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti and Barkhan from June 05 (evening/night) to June 07.
Sindh: Duststorms/gusty winds with isolated rain-thunderstorms are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Larkana on June 06 and June 07.

Duststorms/windstorms and lightning may affect daily routines, standing crops, loose structures like electric poles, vehicles and solar panels. Heatwave conditions are likely to subside in the country during the forecast period.
