In Turbat, Balochistan, dengue has become severely lethal. Over 7,000 individuals have been diagnosed with the disease in the Kech district of Makran division. Moreover, the lack of necessary equipment and facilities in hospitals is exacerbating the situation, making it difficult for people to survive and tackle this hazardous disease.
Doctors and nurses are working painstakingly to prevent it, but it’s unfortunate to say that the government, along with concerned institutions, is not providing an efficient response. However, to hinder dengue, it’s imperative to take firm action and ensure a healthy environment. The government of Balochistan should provide the necessary tools and equipment to protect the people from this disease.

The Holy Father Pope Francis was dying in hospital in Rome and was asked by doctors what his last wish was. He told doctors to call Amit Shah and Narendra Modi from India. A phone call was made and the two appeared in no time by Pope’s bedside. The Holy Father held their hands and kept mum. Amit Shah and Narendra Modi were so touched and at the same time felt very important for being summoned by the Holy Father in his dying moment.
Out of curiosity, Modi asked the Pope, “But why did you call us?” The Holy Father gathered all his strength and said, “Jesus Christ died between two thieves and I want to do the same.” On hearing this, Amit Shah and Narendra got a deadly shock.

Smoking habit has harmed many people around the globe and people of Pakistan are no exception. One can find a large number of drug addicts in the country who started smoking at a young age. Due to this pressing concern about a million people have become victims of various diseases like lung cancer, TB and serious stomach ailments and many more. But unfortunately the matter has been overlooked completely.
It is duty of the government to take action to stop this, as smoking frequently leads to drug addiction. Until now concerned authorities have not adequately addressed this matter. It is my appeal to government to look into the matter and strive to solve it seriously.

Air pollution resulting from heavy traffic and inadequate waste management is leading to widespread littering. These issues are worsened by unhealthy air quality in Karachi, classified as such due to concentration of PM2.5 being 6.8 times higher than annual air quality guideline value set by the WHO. To effectively address these issues, we can implement a few solutions. This involves promoting the use of public transportation and carpooling to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce emissions.Simultaneously, enhancing waste management practices, such as increasing the number of waste bins and imposing strict penalties for littering, is imperative to maintain cleanliness in the market area. Furthermore, awareness campaigns targeting both shopkeepers and visitors are crucial to underscore the significance of environmental conservation and proper waste disposal. Additionally, initiatives like tree planting and the creation of green spaces within and around the market can mitigate air pollution and enhance the overall ambiance. Hawkers and street vendors cater to the majority of individuals passing through Saddar.
Due to their hectic schedules, these customers are unable to thoroughly explore the market. Additionally, they serve the lower-middle-class and middle-class transit population’s socioeconomic needs, something that many formal establishments do not. Hawkers will continue to guarantee their presence in the market by giving bribes to the police, traffic police, and city administration because of this need and commercial opportunity. By taking steps like encouraging use of public transportation, enhancing waste management practices, spreading awareness, and embracing beauty of nature, we can transform market into a more eco-friendly and sustainable place that benefits everyone.

I am writing to express my deep concern about issue of traffic congestion in our city, which is largely attributed to unchecked presence of hawkers on our roads. While I understand that hawkers provide essential services and goods to community, their occupation of public spaces is causing significant disruptions to flow of traffic, leading to frustrating delays, increased air and noise pollution, and stress for commuters like myself.
Every day, I witness chaos and gridlock caused by hawkers setting up shop on busy roads, sidewalks, and intersections. This not only affects daily commute but also hampers overall economic productivity of our city. The situation is further exacerbated by lack of effective enforcement and regulation, allowing the problem to persist and worsen over time.
I urge authorities to take immediate and decisive action to address this issue. Designated hawking zones, strict enforcement of traffic regulations, and alternative livelihood opportunities for hawkers are essential steps towards finding a solution. Additionally, support for hawkers to transition to formal markets or designated vending areas would be beneficial in ensuring a more organized and efficient use of public spaces.
