Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah underscored the importance of universities functioning as “technology and knowledge incubators” during his speech at the 4th Convocation of DHA Suffa University, held at DA Golf & Country Club. He announced the establishment of two state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs at the university.
Speaking at the event, which also featured addresses from Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmed SaeedMinhas, Chairman HEC Sindh Dr. Tariq Rafi, and Dr. Abdul Bari, Shah praised the rapid progress of DHA Suffa University since its inception in 2012.
He congratulated the university’s leadership and faculty for their contributions to shaping future leaders. “DHA Suffa University is on its way to becoming a globally recognized institution for higher education and research, significantly contributing to nation-building,” Shah stated. He commended DHA Karachi’s comprehensive educational initiatives, from early education to postgraduate levels, emphasizing the critical role of academia in national progress and economic prosperity. Highlighting the university’s focus on entrepreneurship, Shah noted, “DHA Suffa’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center ‘Aghaz’ promotes the vision of creating job providers instead of job seekers.”
He expressed confidence that this initiative aligns with the Sindh government’s efforts to offer job and business opportunities to the youth. The Chief Minister advised graduates to remain vigilant and adaptive in the face of global technological advancements and socio-economic changes.
He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and seizing new opportunities in the AI-driven era. Shah concluded by urging the Vice Chancellor to submit a proposal for the AI labs, reinforcing his commitment to enhancing technological education at DHA Suffa University.
