Launched from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC), the satellite will aid Pakistan’s digital transition by providing internet access to remote areas, according to the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco).
The satellite, which will take about four days to reach space, is anticipated to help establish an advanced communication network, meeting the telecom sector’s growing demands. Its advanced capabilities will address the rising need for high-speed internet and seamless connectivity.
Ahead of launch of PAKSAT MM1, Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) announced that Pakistan’s advanced communication satellite will provide communication services in multiple bands and play a crucial role in country’s digital development.
The government members including Prime Minieter celebrated launch, highlighting its potential to enhance internet connectivity, economic activities, e-commerce, and e-governance in Pakistan.
Earlier this month, Pakistan first lunar mission, ICUBE-Q was launched on May 3 from China’s Chang’E6. The satellite, developed by the Institute of Space Technology (IST) and China’s Shanghai University SJTU with Suparco, successfully transmitted its first images from lunar orbit, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s space efforts.
