As per direction of the CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Government has established a new department of “Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” in Lahore General Hospital for the treatment and operation of oral and facial cancers and structural defects including fractures of the mouth, face and jaws as a result of accidents.
The Head of this new department will be Prof. Armaghan Israr Mirza of Grade BS-20. It is mentionable that with the opening of this new department, large and modern treatment facilities will be available to patients suffering from various mouth, face and jaw diseases coming to LGH. Speaking in this regard, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute & Amiruddin Medical College Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar said that LGH is famous and important in the whole country regarding the treatment of citizens injured in traffic accidents and now establishment of “Oral and Maxillofacial” department will also have the honor of facilitating operation of broken jaws. He highlighted that now all types of medical facilities will be available to the patients in the same hospital due to which the patients will not have to go to different hospitals for treatment. MS LGH Dr. Faryad Hussain was also present on this occasion.
