New timings announced for colleges in Punjab from May 21

LAHORE – The Punjab government has notified new timings for all public and private colleges, starting from today May 21 to May 31.

The Higher Education Department (HED) of the province has issued a notification, stating that the decision has been taken due to “severe hot weather”.

The colleges will observe the following timings:

Morning Shifts

Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 07:30am to 11:30am

Friday: 07:30am to 11am

Evening Shifts

Monday to Saturday: 4pm to 8pm

A day earlier, the Punjab government has announced the closure of schools across the province for seven days due to scorching temperature.

The provincial government has issued a notification in this regard, stating: “In view of surge in temperature and heatwave in the proivince, all public and private schools shall remain closed for seven days with effect from 25th May 2024 to 31st May 2024”.

“However, schools will be allowed to conduct examinations as scheduled with necessary precautions to ensure safety of students,” it added.
