Punjab government on Friday announced summer vacation for schools 2024 amid scorching heat in the region.
As per the notification, the summer vacations will start from June 1 and end on August 14. All government and private schools will reopen on August 15 after 2.5 months summer break.

Ahead of summer vacations, Punjab government also revised school timings due to extreme heat. With new update, schools classes will now operate from 7am to 11:30am, from Monday to Thursday, and 7-10:30 on Fridays.
SED further directed schools to implement measures ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students. This includes ensuring all fans are functional, water coolers are available, and preventing students from staying in open areas during school hours to avoid direct sun exposure.
Furthermore, early summer vacations are also being actively considered. The final decision will be made in the last five days of May, based on the current weather conditions.
