LAHORE – Hot and dry weather is predicted in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also prevails over upper and western parts of the country.
Under the influence of these weather conditions, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province on Wednesday night.
On Thursday and Friday, hot and dry weather is expected in most parts and extremely hot in central and southern districts. Partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Attock, Talagang, Chakwal, Jhelum, Noorpurthal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Gujranwala and Gujrat during afternoon/evening. Partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm may occur in Murree, Galyat and surrounding areas during evening/night.
In Lahore, the maximum temperatures will likely remain between 40-42 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 41-43°C on Friday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. Heatwave persisted in central and southern districts.
Dera Ghazi Khan remained the hottest place in Punjab where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 19 per cent.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 33 per cent.
