May 9 cases: Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul among 25 others whose bails confirmed

RAWALPINDI – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday confirmed the bails of PTI leaders Shibli Faraz, Raja Basharat, Zartaj Gul and Zain Qureshi among others in the cases registered on May 9.

ATC Judge Malik Ejaz Asif passed the order while hearing the bail pleas of the PTI leaders in cases related to May 9 riots.

More than 500 accused individuals named in the May 9 cases appeared in court, and all accused marked their attendance.

The court confirmed the bails of 20 to 25 accused individuals including Shibli Faraz, Raja Basharat, Zartaj Gul and Zain Qureshi.

The court approved the request for exemption from attendance by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and ordered him to appear before it on the next hearing.

The hearings of the May 9 cases were adjourned until May 29, and the next hearing of the May 9 cases would be held in Adiala Jail.
