Senior Minister for Information, Transport, Mass Transit, Excise Taxation, and Narcotics Control, SharjeelInamMemon, reiterated the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) long-standing advocacy for freedom of expression and its unwavering support for the media. Speaking as the chief guest at a health card distribution ceremony organized by the Hyderabad Union of Journalists at the Hyderabad Press Club, Minister Memon highlighted the PPP’s historical role in championing press freedom, citing the late Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s stalwart defense of media liberties during oppressive regimes. Highlighting the PPP’s humanitarian efforts, Minister Memon recounted the party’s swift response during the Sindh floods, where millions were displaced, and the subsequent housing initiatives undertaken to assist affected communities. He praised the exemplary service of Sindh’s hospitals, attracting patients not only from other provinces but also from neighboring countries like Iran and Afghanistan.

He emphasized the importance of collective action to revive the economy, expand the tax base, and address national challenges, echoing Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s call for unity. Responding to queries, Minister Memon addressed concerns about law enforcement, highlighting the Sindh Police’s role in maintaining security and preventing terrorism in Karachi.

He also discussed the expansion of public transportation initiatives and the PPP’s support for democracy, stressing the party’s prioritization of Pakistan’s interests over individual ambitions.
