A woman and her young son were shot dead while they were on their way to court in South Cantt area of Lahore on Monday morning.
The woman identified as Ayesha was targeted along with her 15-year-old son as they were heading to sessions court. Unidentified gunmen sprayed bullets on the mother-son duo on Bedian Road. The woman was due to appear in the court facing a case for murdering her former husband. A dacoit was injured and arrested while his accomplice managed to escape after a police encounter in Chuhng area of Lahore on Monday.
According to police, the cops signalled motorbike-riders to stop at a picket. The bikers opened firing straight at the policemen and tried to flee. Police chased the accused and in the exchange of firing one dacoit was injured and arrested while the other made his escape good. The injured dacoit was identified as Asad and they both were involved in several dacoity cases and also had criminal record.
