Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Zubair Wazir took proactive steps to address connectivity and passport-related challenges faced by constituents in Waziristan during a series of meetings with key officials in Islamabad on Friday.
In a significant development, MNA Zubair Wazir engaged in a comprehensive discussion with Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (retd) Hafeez Ur Rehman, regarding the restoration of mobile 3G and 4G services in Waziristan. The meeting also centered on the timely issuance of pending passports for local tribes.
During the deliberations, MNA Wazir underscored the critical need for improved internet services in South Waziristan, emphasizing the importance of connectivity in today’s digital age. Chairman PTA reassured Wazir of the authority’s commitment to extending internet services to both Upper and Lower South Waziristan, addressing concerns over poor mobile signal and data connectivity.
Speaking to Dawn News, MNA Zubair Wazir articulated his vision of bringing internet access to every household in the region, highlighting its role in empowering the youth and fostering global connectivity.
In another significant development, MNA Zubair Wazir met with Director General Passport and Immigration Islamabad, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, to address passport-related issues affecting residents of Waziristan. Notably, Wazir emphasized the urgency of resolving passport renewal challenges at the Dera Ismail Khan Passport Office and expediting the printing of pending passports at the Wana Passport Office.
