Lahore, Punjab weather update; rains, gusty winds likely

LAHORE – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday evening/night, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave prevails over western and upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist in upper parts during next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely at isolated places in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin Lahore and Gujranwala on Friday evening/night. Hot weather with gusty winds/windstorm is likely in central and southern districts.

On Saturday and Sunday, mainly dry weather is likely in most districts of the province and hot in central and southern parts. Partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely at isolated places in Murree, Galyat and Pothohar region.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 35-37 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 36-38 C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy/dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 48 per cent.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 35 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 39 per cent.
