LAHORE – Dr Sohail Saleem has stepped down from his post as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Medical and Sports Sciences.

He informed the PCB chief about his resignation on Thursday. The development comes after PCB’s medical panel came under fire over negligent behavior regarding team players.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi then formed an independent medical panel to look into the matter. Naqvi also shared tweet about independent inquiry into the matter that led to the injuries of players including Ihsanullah.

Seasoned members including Professor Dr. Javed Akram, Professor Dr. Rana Dilawaiz, Dr. Mumraiz Naqshband were given task of finding negligence.

PSL sensation Ihsanullah faced an elbow injury and was sidelined for remaining events including the World Cup.

A report surfaced claiming that a player’s elbow was misdiagnosed, which has resulted in a routine injury turning into a significantly more serious one.
