US Ambassador calls on Punjab CM Maryam

LAHORE  – US Ambassador Donald Blome called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and congratulated her over becoming country’s first woman to take this charge.

The US Ambassador also lauded the efforts of CM Maryam regarding implementation on the public friendly projects.

“This is really appreciating that the Chief Minister takes much interest in public welfare projects,” said Mr. Blome during the meeting.

The US envoy said that the US wanted to do more work with the Punjab government to eradicate poverty and for economic development.

Pakistan and US, he said, have strong economic relations for decades.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said they would provide safe environment for the American investment.

“We will welcome US cooperation in agriculture and IT,” said the CM.

She stated that there is a huge potential for investment in Punjab.

The CM said that a strong government can only steer the country from economic crisis.

Maryam said that the inflation was gradually coming down by the government policies.

The chief minister said that they made a comprehensive policy to provide education, health and food to the public.

“We will safeguard the basic needs and rights of the public at every cost,” she added.
