LAHORE – Uber has wrapped up its operations in Punjab capital city of Lahore in a shocking decision but there is also good news for those who use ride-sharing services.

The ride-hailing company has already shut down its services in Karachi, Islamabad, Multan and other cities in 2022. It has not shared the reasons for suddenly closing its operations in Lahore.

When you try to use the Uber app, it shows a message stating: “Uber no longer in Lahore. You can use Careem to avail 50% discount on 5 rides with code LHR50.

The company also sent a message to its customers about shutting down its services.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to no longer offer the Uber app services in Lahore as of April 30, 2024. Ride hailing services will continue to be offered through our subsidary brand Careem and you will have the option to sign up and request a trip on Careem to have a seamless experience,” read the message.
