JI chief denounces form-47 usage in govt formation

Engr Hafiz NaeemurRehman, the Ameer of Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan, commended Karachi Press Club for promptly extending the first invitation upon his election as Ameer. He highlighted the party’s success in Karachi, doubling its votes in recent elections. Addressing concerns over the political landscape, Hafiz NaeemurRehman criticized the use of Form-47 to establish governments, which the party does not acknowledge.

He expressed surprise at the acceptance of forged mandates by major political players. Emphasizing national awakening, he noted the rejection of major parties by the populace in recent elections, signaling a demand for accountable governance.

Discussing governance issues, Hafiz NaeemurRehman urged adherence to constitutional roles and the formation of a caretaker government, stressing that deviating from these norms would provoke public discontent. Regarding the agricultural sector, he highlighted the plight of farmers across Punjab, advocating for the redistribution of lands held by landlords to ordinary farmers. Addressing challenges in Karachi, he pledged Jamat-e-Islami’s commitment to fighting street crimes and announced plans for a nationwide protest against wheat imports. Furhtermore, Hafiz NaeemurRehman underscored the party’s role in mobilizing youth, announcing plans to provide free IT courses to ten lakh students nationwide over the next two years.

Reflecting on Karachi’s security challenges, he lamented the city’s loss of 64 citizens to street crimes last year and called for collective action to tackle both petty and organized crimes. Present at the event were several key Jamat-e-Islami leaders, including Dr. Osama Razi, Karachi’s Deputy Amir MunamZafer Khan, Karachi’s Naib Amir Muslim Parvez, Information Secretary ZahidAskari, and Social Media Coordinator Salman Sheikh. The Karachi Press Club Governing Body presented Hafiz Naeem-ul-Rehman with a token of appreciation, consisting of a bouquet, Sindhi Ajrak, and Sindhi cap.
